I know this is redundant, but I am sick and tired of Donald Trump disrespecting Canada. I cannot and will never be neutral on this issue.

Some nurse anesthesia history. Thank you for sharing @bpeterswatral.bsky.social
#CRNAweek
When I was at Mayo Rochester, I was training in oncology, but the history of nurse anesthesia was part of the non-academic Mayo culture curriculum.
Nurse anesthesia is part of Mayo practice since 1890s.

Canada needs more anesthesiologists to keep up with demand. I heard from more than a dozen Canadian nurse anesthetists who work in the U.S., many of which say nurse anesthetists would be able to help out. But Canada doesn’t have nurse anesthetists. More here: www.cbc.ca/radio/whitec...

The answer as to why is known. The questions are: Are we ready to have the difficult conversations, end medical turf wars, put egos aside, face the real issues head on, and make the necessary changes to Canadian healthcare to improve access to anesthesia care and surgical services? #CRNA #ONhealth

“The fundamental breakthrough is to base scope of practice on demonstrated competencies, not occupational identities. Monopolistic guilds serve themselves, not the public interest. Health care changes constantly; people learn new skills. It’s high time they got to use them.” Well said Steven Lewis
