Lord Jim Lee, I am going to have to leave some of these out and practice drawing - some great mix of characters in this issue, lots of Psylocke and Gladiator. Double Dragon III and GI Joe NES ads.

The iconic Knightfall issue was in pretty good condition but the back of it was completely melded to backing board, I can’t bear to toss it because it is the issue I bought myself from a store…so who cares about value, will just rebag it (doubt this one is super expensive since it sold so well)

Different artwork and the third chapter but nice to see it with colors (this is what I get for going through these magazines in order)

Close up of the logo and Last Armageddon ("Harmageddon") shown under it

Close ups of the beautiful art from the ad...which is definitely similar style but I don't know, I feel like they should have just released it...

The cancellation of the above Youkai game was lamented by some fans on Twitter before with materials posted of many articles that were hyping up the release.

Not sure if anyone has written about the cancelled at-the-last-minute ghost spinoff of "Last Armageddon" which was to be called "Youkai Hen Kikou" (妖怪変紀行) by Brain Grey. It is rumored that it was cancelled because of copyright concerns from the art being so similar to legend Shigeru Mizuki #pc98

Found on the same page I pulled the last illustration from...Back in the day to sell or buy something used you had to put your whole damn street address and full name and publish it in a magazine or newspaper LOL

Example of one of the almost countless mini-illustrations that are scattered all over the mag

I can't seem to easily find information about "Charlie" the unique cutesy nostalgic style illustrator that is all over these Comptiq magazines, it doesn't help there is another Charlie illustrator that has taken over the SEO namespace from the 2000s on.

Labeled as "bishojo tokusatsu" I found out about Star Virgin starring gravure idol Eiko Kuroki, this snippet is talking about an event at CLUB MADONNA in Roppongi and another article I saw described her as "not Mexican believe it or not", she was 18 or 19 here? but 56 now! #tokusatsu

The new Mammoth album is great...support a fellow gamer who happens to be the son of Eddie Van Halen and a virtuoso on drums/bass/guitar. Hearing him talk about music and jam on the Rick Beato channel was pretty infectious, oozes talent and hard work.

This is an ad for a 1987 "Bothtec Programming Contest" where you send them a game and they will potentially turn it into a released game and pay you (light on details...but grand prize is 2 million JPY, let's just say $15K USD), the image used is out of control...where the heck is it from

Deep cut but there was a port of the drawing/animation software "Fantavision" by Broderbund to the PC-98 and FM77. I see that the PC-98 version (image sourced from Mercari) was a hefty 24,800 yen! I wonder if the polar bear is some sort of demo scene in the app. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantavi...
