It's weird of all places to step up, the NHL has deemed them ineligible despite the verdict. Who knows for how long but at least theirs that. I believe they still have civil cases to go through as well too.

Think that leaves only Henrique (3ish mil). Which.. sure, why not. The Jarry/Graves for Nurse is the only other scenario the Oilers could do, but Nurse has apparently said he wouldn't waive his nmc.

He's a strange goalie. Very very good resume, but then you watch him play and wonder how he even got drafted.

Lots of Oilers fans here really liked him, but for some reason management did not. Seems like a good low risk depth signing to me

This is how Dubas operates though, he'll always have 5 guys for 3 positions to create internal competition. Hopefully Muse isn't a "his guys" coach, and they don't spend to the cap to hamstring movement this time

I feel pretty vindicated. Heard so much "do not even mention Matthews/Marner in a conversation with McDavid/Drai ever again". They showed better in 2 series vs Florida.

Definitely wasn't a hockey play, an intent to injure, and did. So not sure how or why it was downgraded.

I mean, the Leafs story is hot and gets the clicks. But watching that game 7, I'm not sure any team would have beat that Florida Panthers. I hate them with a passion, but you're right, they're a damn good squad

I think as a group, I would agree. But to me the Leafs have always lacked THE defenseman. Hedman, Ekblad, Makar, Petro, Doughty etc. Best we ever got was a 40yr Gio.

Felt this entire thread but especially this. I left with Dubas (coincidentally, Nova Scotian so Pens have always been my 2nd team). But I needed a hard reset to enjoy watching hockey again. Could care less what happens to the Leafs now. And even in its infancy, the PWHL has been far better product.
