The tradeoffs are horrible no matter what happens. Federal works aren't paid. Poor and elderly go hungry. 20 million will lose healthcare. But to make the trade so a few fat cats don't have to be uncomfortable in an airport is ludicrous.

If they nuke the filibuster all the hardship is on them and the Dems stood "heroically." If the Dems cave the GOP is the winner. This is very simple.

The pain point for the GOP is now. The holidays. Running it back after the holidays is a true gift to them. No flights on Thanksgiving. No one buying gifts on Christmas. People didn't march or get out and vote to see them cave.
