Genuinely asking: why is this picture in particular a bad thing? I get the issues with half baked "move fast and break things" mentality we see with companies like Anduril, but caterpillar etc are proven brands with scale right?

I've been using YouTube music and have a pretty good experience with this not happening. Because you can put random YouTube videos on your playlists you can find weird bootleg uploads of things.

For real, buy the non-perishables and bring them to your local food bank 15 minutes away. I guarantee you its closer than you think.

Yeah as a prime "we should let people prove they've changed from their twenties" type person: this dude is officially cooked and should go back to farming oysters (and hire a good tattoo cover up artist). This is past "I was stupid but I've grown".

I've said this elsewhere but the second I saw he was an infantry marine with prior deployments I instantly thought "this guy has said/done some shit". I really hope he's able to prove through action that he's grown. But anyone who looked at even his prior employment shouldn't even be surprised.

Yeah. And it deserves to, it's not like he was 15 when he said those things. But I'm with you in that I'm more disappointed in how this affects things than I am surprised by the words.

To be clear, I'm not saying he deserves a pass like "this shouldn't even be a talking point". I'm glad he's being primaried and I hope someone better comes up. But someone who was in the Marine infantry for years, including a deployment, has without a doubt said heinous things. It's the culture.

IDK maybe it's my lived-experience bias but I'm not against voting for someone with a checkered past but also a record of action and advocacy that demonstrates changed views. If you disavowed every white dude veteran who did bad things you'd have... None left. Do people not know what Marines are?

I'm exactly the opposite! Could've been private, decided to be a fed instead because it seemed more stable and straightforward! What a fucking mistake!

Just Virginia? Half the laid off feds I know are moving to the midwest and south to find work. And I don't think they'll be forgetting who forced them to uproot their lives.

I genuinely believe that if the government tried to take away tiktok, youtube, instagram etc. as Nepal did then there would be riots in the streets. People NEED their dopamine machines.

I did almost the same exact thing three years ago! Feeling like you're "starting over" or rebuilding your life is really hard but you can come out of it even better. Give yourself grace and TRY to find joy where you can, no matter how simple!
