Yeah same, I definitely know exactly what movie he’s talking about.

It’s important to always be displaying a sense of superiority and that mainly just involves putting down popular stuff.

I know Non-exempt salaries can be found in technical fields, but I have no clue how common it is in game development. Could be a mixture of both.

Some salaried positions are non-exempt. This is not the case for Naughty Dog salaried employees?

It’s kinda crazy that it is legal. We have mandatory overtime year round at my job and we’re not even crunching for a release of something. Just the expectation.

This is a pretty fun and interesting topic. I know in the early days, single devs would advertise their PC games in magazines and then would ship them out themselves. Pretty cool. Then of course NewGrounds was its own phase. I think crowning Cave Story as the first modern indie makes a lot of sense.

Silksong is a much better game in my opinion, but in the spirit of best Nintendo game, Donkey Kong makes sense.

Yeah, I guess I often misjudge peoples intention when posting, thinking engaging in discourse is the point. But maybe people want to post without random people chiming in, which is fair. I get why people have their guards up, but I am surprised by the intolerance for standard back and forth convo.

Yeah and a well deserved win. Would be curious to hear OP’s perspective but of course I have been blocked for trying to have a normal conversation.

Yeah there are plenty of examples that fall within that framework. Plenty that are considered great or classic RPGs. I can see taking issue with E33 as a game but much as I would have also liked to see other games take home wins, I don’t see category fraud here.

Decision making isn’t a prerequisite for the RPG genre. Plenty of RPGs follow a single narrative while you level up a character or party.

Sorry, not you. The post.

My feed is full of these boomer ass Facebook posts. Bluesky has a real 2011 feel to it.

This is interesting. Where did you watch it? I’m sort of curious to see the film and how it compares.
December 13, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Yeah. I feel like we’re just left with worse versions of E3. Could be nostalgia, but that one week of announcements felt more enjoyable than the stretched out summer giant ad fest designed for media coverage. Games are also a business, at least the celebratory stuff tries to be both.

Why?
December 13, 2025 at 1:23 AM
First good post I’ve seen on the subject
