6. Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch

I love the mysteries in this series, they’re easy to get invested in. It has some fantastic characters, Peter and Nightingale make a great duo. I also appreciate the world building and the magic elements.

5. The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas

While I don’t love one of the main characters in this one, I do love books with fake dating.

4. Murder On The Orient Express by Agatha Christie

This book was mind-blowing the first time I read it. Hercule Poirot is brilliant and my favourite fictional detective. Also, once again, train crimes are cool.

3. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

This book is one of my favourites and it’s a lot of fun and I appreciate the humour. Arthur Dent is one of my favourite fictional characters.

2. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

This is the book that got me into romance. I love the banter and enemies-to-lovers.

1. The Highland Falcon Thief by M.G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman.

I adore this series. I love books with amateur detectives. I love middle-grade books. I also think trains are pretty cool.
