The Song of Us by @katefussner.bsky.social is a gorgeous novel in verse queer retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice set in Boston in 7th grade. It is perfect for 12-15 year olds!

It’s the only book in school that I stopped reading because I didn’t like it!

A cohort of us in Boston did the first half a couple years ago, it’s really fantastic.

We don’t get school/yearbook photos taken at my school! I had a coworker take a nice headshot of me when I needed it professionally using portrait mode, it came out good so I use that.

Seeing this makes me feel less bad about my two being rejected because if they don’t accept you, who even are they accepting!

It’s so state-dependent. In MA, all teachers need to have a masters anyway within five years of starting a job, so it made sense for me to get my MLS at the start. You now also can be a school librarian in MA with a diff masters and passing the Praxis
