I’ve been reading Dennis Lehane’s WORLD GONE BY, which is excellent, of course. And last night I watched the 2017 Spanish horror flick Veronica, a fairly standard possession story but entertaining enough.

I had such a great time last night at the Joe Hill event hosted by Brookline Booksmith! Joe was his typical engaging, insightful, and often hilarious self and his reading from KING SORROW was absolutely mesmerizing. I can't wait to get into this one! 🐉🔥

Not only are the books literal works of art, SST’s customer service is impeccable. Paul Fry saw on social media that I was ordering a 2nd copy of TPC to display both versions of the reversible cover so he sent the book with the “memoir” cover facing out AND an extra cover in case I changed my mind.

Coming home to any #BookMail is a wonderful thing. But coming home to @badhandbooks.bsky.social book mail is next level! Especially when it comes from @brackenmacleod.bsky.social one of my favorite writers (and human beings) in the #horror genre. I cannot wait to get into LET NOT YOUR SORROW DIE!
While it’s virtually impossible for me to pick an absolute favorite from among @paultremblay.bsky.social books, I will say THE BEAST YOU ARE (the titular novella from his wonderful 2024 collection) is IMO the most consistently beautiful thing he’s written to date. Frankly, I’m awestruck by it.
