I died a little when I had to explain to my teen/young adult kids that yes, it was, indeed, a real song, not a meme. And I unironically LOVE IT.

You're confusing him with Duck Dodgers, from the 24th-and-a-half century.

The shooter will be "found" with a "self-inflicted" wound, and we will be told they were an "evil leftist", with obligatory incriminating internet footprint. Maybe there will be a manifesto.

I'm Canadian. I grew up on Vicar of Dibley, French and Saunders, and Chef!

Thank you! 🙂

Upon my further research...please read that "were" as past tense lol. Still, a piece of pop culture trivia I did not know until today!

How did I not know Dawn French and Lenny Henry were married?!

I am now down a rabbit hole, because the way I write cursive captial E apparently doesn't exist. THEN WHERE DID I LEARN IT?!

I feel the same about my adopted hometown Hamilton! It's a vibrant, gritty, blue-collar steeltown, with amazing restaurants, local music/art/literary scene, surprising greenspaces with hiking trails, waterfalls, long lake Ontario shoreline with walking/biking trail, interesting geography...

And as Roy Cropper's mother on Corrie lol

I've never seen Open All Hours, but I remember her from Tenko. I can't remember which station I watched it on here in Ontario; either PBS or TVO.

I didn't even notice!

Estelle Getty's the real outlier. All three of the others were still working (Dorothy as a teacher, Blanche at a museum, Rose at the Grief Center). I think mid-50s (average age) was just "older" back then. Their kids were only in their 20s/early 30s. My kids are in their early 20s...

Stephanie Cole was FORTY-EIGHT when she took that role! FORTY. EIGHT. My 50-yr-old self was mortified when I found that bit of information.

Not sure if One Foot in the Grave ever played on PBS, but I watched it on TVO in Ontario through the 90s.

One Foot in the Grave was one of the best I watched through the 90s. That, or Waiting for God? Or As Time Goes By?

like, at least my kids were aware enough to realize they didn't have the tools. What about all the kids who aren't?

My Gen Z kids: "They want us to use Google for research, but no one taught us HOW to use Google for research!". Gen Z was failed in a lot of ways. It's not the teachers' faults. They can't teach what they haven't been trained to teach.
