I got an ALC of Brighter Than Scale, Swifter Than Flame. Here are some brief thoughts! The world was rich and atmospheric. The main character was relatable and the story was interesting! The story was a little predictable but overall a solid 4 ⭐️! #booksky 🪐📚 #diversebooks

I absolutely love found family, it’s my favorite trope and I feel the trope was done so well in this book. This group of strangers are all so different from one another. They all have different struggles, lives, and personalities. However, I love the way they came together and utilized their individual knowledge to survive! The diversity of the cast really added to my enjoyment of this book. The zombies and the setting were well-written and I could really feel myself in this atmosphere. I could visualize every scene with such clarity, everything really jumped off the page! I do feel this book ended a little abruptly, I wanted just a little more. But that’s my only complaint! I’m glad my book club chose this book”

I was told Hammajang Luck is a heist novel.. and while there is a heist I think this is more a book about family. The bonds of family, and also friends who become family. The story centered on relationships while the heist was more background! I enjoyed this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #booksky #transrightsreadathon

Here are some brief thoughts on Sunrise on the Reaping! I really enjoyed my time reading this book, and I’m sure to find even more on a reread! Definitely recommend checking it out! #booksky #sunriseonthereaping

Thinking things are inevitable, not believing change is possible.” “with that, she condems me to life” Thoughts- This book hurt, and really made me think. We all love Haymitch in the OG books and I really loved the way this book expanded on who he is and what made him the Haymitch we know and love in the books. I loved how this book spoke on propaganda and more on Snow managing perception of the games. Cutting things, editing things, removing moments entirely so that his narrative is the one that citizens see. I really enjoyed the way the book talked about the rebellion, showing steps toward what we see in the OG books. I won’t say more for spoilers but seeing certain chess pieces being put in place enhanced the story for me.

1-Kingdoms of Death: Really liked it, good continuation of the story. However I felt it was repetitive.
2- The Dead Cat Tail Assassins: Loved. I had so much fun with this!

Review-last week I had no idea what I was in the mood to read, so I reached out to Bluesky! I said the first recommended book that I can get from my library I will read, and this book was the result. I’m so glad it was! Thieves gambit follows Ross as she enters a thrilling heist competition to save her mother’s life. This book combined two things I absolutely love, heists and competitions! The characters were great, the heists were so much fun, and the settings were atmospheric! Imy only negative on this book was the romance. I personally could have gone without it. I found it a little predictable and didn’t feel the two characters had much chemistry. However, the romance didn’t detract from my enjoyment and I still gave this book 5 stars! I’m so mad that my library is a ““several month” wait for book 2!

⭐️⭐️⭐️- Harrison’s strong suit is her ability to write in a way that evokes vivid imagery. I could really see all the scenes and easily imagine what was happening on page. My main issue with this book is I was just bored. I had glimmers of interest.. they didn’t last #boosky #horrorbooks
