Ted Cruz is a really low hurdle to clear… like a puddle of warm piss.

This is a tipping point: A descent into oligarchy? Social wars and willful blindness while the middle class is reduced to serfdom? Complacency and unrealistic expectations of institutional resilience? The tried-and-true “it could never happen here”? Goose-stepping towards tyranny and oppression?

Modern serfdom. Too poor to move — just keep kicking a % up to the billionaires and “government” (Is there a difference now?), and you get to keep the rest.

Would that even be an improvement? It’s not clear.

If the DNC had focus-fired that issue for the last forty years, they’d probably have swung votes to the Dem end of the “identity politics” spectrum. People tend to listen when you’ve helped them find a good job with solid wages, feed and house their families, and helped their children do better.

Sure hope there aren’t any leaks. What a shame.

Familiarity breeds contempt, sure, but we were already maxed out. We don’t have the 2016 urgency now, just a malaise & more disappointment. The adrenaline wears you down & then comes the questioning — “We survived it once; how bad could it be?” (Hint: Real bad: they’ve had practice & time to prep.)

If we lose birthright citizenship in SCOTUS, we treat that loss as illegitimate and temporary as we fight to win it back. What else can we do?
