The Story of the Treasure Seekers by Edith Nesbit was a childhood favorite of C. S. Lewis and an influence on his Narnia books.

He once mentioned to a friend that he wanted his book to be "in the tradition of E. Nesbit."

The raven is an infamous folklore trickster, associated with death and the afterlife. Armed with a clever bag of tricks, they are legendary for their puzzle solving and thievery. In many Northwest Coastal Tribal tales, a raven steals the sun and brings light to the world.
