Today is the 40th anniversary of #CalvinAndHobbes making the debut.

I thought it was just me that would celebrate but it’s been lovely to see so many people on here, from all creative streams (and ages) show their own love for Bill’s work.

Here’s to you, Bill, for every smile and tear.
Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. Across the four panels, Calvin tells his tiger, Hobbes, about how his grandfather bemoans the lack of good quality storytelling in modern day cartoons. The beauty of Watterson’s work was how simply he layered it with meaning and commentary.
