bc I remember back in 2012 seeing people laude it as brave and progressive to depict taboo age gaps and like. hm.

idgaf if you like tangled or their relationship like I do not care at all I just think it was a weird choice. and like OP says in the original post I'm glad people are making that choice less without interrogating it

it also feels weird when people see an intersex pet and are like "aw nonbinary kitty" like no. that's not what being nonbinary is. I don't think your cat conceives of gender that way at all.

most of all it makes me feel 🤨 when I see people ascribe patriarchal ideas to their pets. "well he's such a ladies man" "haha he's a dumb boy the girls are all smarter" "awwww we need to get her a boyfriend" ma'am these are all your ideas. that's a dog.

English is a gendered language so I understand using gendered pronouns for your animal. but I Feel some type of way when people care about people misgendering their pets. "um actually he's actually a boy" no he isn't. he's a cat. you are ascribing the social constructs of sex and gender onto him
