In my day Debenhams in Southsea was then Handleys and in Commercial Rd was Landport or LDB, as my gran called it. LDB stood for Landport Drapery Bazaar.

I see posts from old friends telling of how Commercial Rd/Arundel St have gone down hill in recent times. On my lunch in the Dockyard I'd often pass right by where your photo was taken for a burger at the Richmond Grill. Gone now, along with the Mecca and bowling alley.
