john oliver: terrifying times
stand-up comedy always bored me, but i thought i'd give it a shot with someone whose content i generally enjoy. turns out, it's still boring. there are a few funny bits, but not funny enough for me to remember them. to be fair, i mostly watched it to help me fall asleep

it shines in season 1, when they reside on earth and shenyanigans ensue when the humans are away. it's cuter, funnier, and the concept works better with that more grounded approach. the cutesiness feels forced afterward when they're in their own isolated world

in high school, we had a campaign run by autism speaks (of course) called "spread the word to end the word", discouraging use of "the r word". the result: those who already used it, began to use it more often. those who didn't use it, began to. nobody used it as a slur though, just an insult

starting to worry that skyrocketing ram prices could have something to do with it (this is the closest to an update we've gotten since this post)

at my funeral i want a happy song to be played, so that everyone cheers

ambient music is mind-numbingly boring unless it gets harsh/distorted/loud/weird, so the only track worth listening to here is "in", which is pretty good. plus it's free

so according to src, you are not allowed to talk about anything bad that somebody has done, if they happen to be transgender. that is what they consider to be bigotry
