Law librarian and indexer/taxonomist. I like cats, knitting, metadata, and voting blue. I’m probably visiting my parents or my grandkids.
I’m so very sorry. What a sad, hard thing.

I’ve been using Cindex since it was a DOS-based program. Excellent product!

So sorry about both your kitties! It's so hard to manage all this. I can't imagine trying to deal with it plus a baby!

but then also not inclined to eat what's offered. But there's no real "crisis," and I think my mom feels like the fact that his passing will make her life so much easier means that she would be selfish to make the call.

Right now I'm watching my parents struggle with a situation that sounds similar to yours. 17-yr-old Arlo supposedly should have died years ago from a heart condition but has hung in there and is now hyperthyroid and not responding well to treatment. So he's constantly hungry and begging for food

I regret letting my most recently deceased cat, Harvey, go on as long as I did. He was diagnosed as diabetic in July 2021, by August I could see that we were not having any luck finding the magic dose of insulin, but it took until September to make the decision to help him out. It's really hard.

During the grocery shortages of early Covid, I started regrowing grocery store green onions in my backyard. I felt like such a pioneer every time I would go out to “harvest.” Lol

Right?! I asked her what books were deemed okay, and she said she just remembers the unabridged Robinson Crusoe, which she did NOT read. 😵‍💫

My daughter scored freakishly high on a Lexile test in sixth grade, which created a lot of drama. She just wanted to read Redwall and Phantom of the Opera but couldn’t because they weren’t “at her level.” 🙄

Oh yeah, you are in the trenches right now and need to survive! I do fairly well with planned leftovers—gumbo, soup, stuffed cabbage rolls, etc. Cook big, eat half and freeze the rest. I don’t do so well with the random tidbits and then feel bad about throwing stuff out.

I need to be better about this.
