If you see this, drop a pic from the last place your passport got stamped.

What BS. Folks are leaving Twitter because it is no longer a venue to have a good faith discussion about anything, not because people are scared of encountering different ideas. Elon has made it a 100% RW propaganda machine and the only thing hanging out serves is to give it an air of legitimacy.

"Leaving your abusive marriage because you don't like your abuser is just running away from the problem & the kind of behavior that got you into that mess to begin with."

Exactly the kind of stuff that should get you in the door for an actual conversation.
Everyone has stuff on their resume about what job they did, etc ... but what really matters is the difference you made for the company.

And that's the problem. They don't know what they don't know.
If you don't already, could you focus your resume on accomplishments 'that resulted in x $ saved/measurable reduced time-to-market' or something that will at least get them talking to you? Things that would make them look good ...

3/ I said to him 'Well, I'm smart. Are you saying that I could do your job as well as you, that your years of experience in your field don't matter?'
😂 He did not appreciate me that day.

2/ I had a VP at a very large company tell him that his people were smart, they could learn whatever they needed to know about medical devices (I had been making the point that he had no one on his team w previous med device experience.)

1/ I luckily moved from engineering into a career where deep experience is not only valued, it's required.
And many engineering managers don't always understand the value of having dealt with a problem before.

It's a tough time of year to pick up a job, Roman - most companies are slowing down over the holidays, with employees taking time off w family, etc.
January, however ... :)

Every person will react differently - only advice is to give them a little grace, if you can. Meaning, you've had a lifetime to think about finding your family, work thru some of your feelings - but for most of them (esp siblings), they are confronting their emotions for the first time.

Even if the decision is made to rebuild, I assume you'll need to continue diverting the lava until that point in time where a new power plant is up & running ... horrible situation.

Just insane, sorry you're all dealing with this.

I went from ecstatic to disconnecting, rinse, repeat. I finally became angry @ one person for trying to control me. That's when I put 'me' first.
Now (30 yrs later), it's all stabilized. Some siblings are my closest friends (& one I don't talk to) - it's just family.
Definitely a roller coaster.

Yes, I was just going to reply to your twitter post that you should be posting here, too.

I have measurably higher engagement here (with far less followers) & very rarely a trolling response. Just my personal experience, but so far this site is much more enjoyable overall.

I'm fine with differing opinions. I'm not okay with the trolling & that other site doing nothing about it. Totally derails conversations.
Tired of the whole 'we need to listen to others' when the reality is 'the others' that we're supposed to listen to are only showing up to disrupt.
