I'm late today, I was out of town!

This photo is because of the shadow. It caught my attention because it looked like an insect to me. 🙂
A photo of a ceiling fan. The fan is toward the lower right corner. It it brown and white, the blades (brown) are shaped like large tropical leaves, the motor and blade holders are white. There is a V shaped angle made by 2 pieces of wood trim on a white ceiling. In the upper left corner is the fan's shadow shaped like a large winged insect with two long antennae-like pointed, um they look like toothpicks, coming off of the body. You cannot see the post the holds the fan to the ceiling, but you can see the shadow from it that runs to the shadow of the fan, looking like the insect shadow is lasering the fan.

Unfinished untrimmed medium tooth paper, chalk pastels.
A medium textured art paper that is unfinished and untrimmed. In the upper third are two yellow lights and a sparse green garland running along the wall. In the bottom third is the back of a wooden bench with garland running across it, and a not quite there outline of a head and veil in browns.

As above, so below, marsh on Hatteras Island, NC. Early spring 2022.
A marsh with a bright pale blue sky, green and not yet green grasses and small windswept bushes between the horizon and a run of marsh waters. There are more early spring grasses and plants in the foreground, most still carrying the brown of dormancy.

I bumped the tree and did not realize that I knocked the star on its side. It looks a little like a flying saucer and I like it.

Seashell flower on the beach, Hatteras Island, NC.
Concentric circles of seashells with space in between them. They are stuck edge down so the top 2/3 to 1/2 are up above the sand. They're spaced like flower petals with smaller shells as the circles move in. Whites, grays and browns make up the mostly scallop and clam shells. Some shell bits are used in the center.

Already a few swallows in this is chai with a shot of espresso. Seems an odd combo, tastes great!

I was playing with colored pencils 10 or so years ago and drew a flower that I thought would be the kind a faerie would hide in. This was done on smooth ink paper.
A fluffy pink top that looks a bit like hairy cotton candy. Below the pink is green compact almost looks like scales with a darker green rim at the bottom. The darker green looks like a pointy scalloped edge saucer. The stem (in shades of green) is about as long as the pink and green part. It is thick, sturdy, and has tiny green "hairs" sticking out from it. A shadow of the flower, done in light browns and a little black falls forward and angled to the right of the flower.

My dad did this one. One of his early ones, he hated it, I loved it. He titled it "Sundown". Oil paint. Some decade before I was born and I'm 64, so it's old,but beautiful.
Sailboats with sails turned yellow by the setting sun and reflected yellow in the water. Sunset colored sky of yellows, oranges, purples, and blues. Sweeping clouds and a pink horizon line. Water is blue purple. A small outcropping of land to the right with a single palm tree.

I was on a retreat in the woods with my beloveds and said "awww" when I saw the wee lawn ornament peeking from under snow.
A snowy hillside with a gray cement wall at the bottom. Just right of center near the base of the hill a small brown deer head and neck is nestled in the snow. It is a lawn decoration and the snow also lies on its head between its ears coming to a point above its eyes.

"Grief" 2022
A friend's beloved pet died. I created this for them.

Acrylics on that stiff board for watercolors that I can't think of the name of.
Scene is a moody pale gray blue sky tinged with a very thin yellow. Two clouds, one to the left and one to the right, both with dark gray bottoms. The beginning of a couple more clouds entering from the left. Directly below sky is thin strip of dark grayish water. Bottom foreground are wooden planks and a wooden bumper, or a wood plank wall with bulky wooden topper. This part was painted to be viewer's choice, boardwalk or wall.

A scallop shell I found on the beach. Mixed media, acrylic and watercolor.
A deeply grooved scallop shell. The top is browns and white and curves out to meet the next section. The bottom section is red-brown then a purple strip below before ending in the tips colored nearly the same as the top. The shadow is a light purple.

Tiny Art Show 2024 with Swell Art Gallery. Yearly event, the gallery provides 5"x5" canvases, artists art on them & give them back. Tiny Art Show happens, art is $20 ea, proceeds to the local school's art scholarship fund.

This is titled "Happy climb" because I love the ocean.

Finally we saw enough of it and The Daughter laughed. It said financial mistake. We howled. She said the guy tried to get his exhaust fixed and when he saw the price he DIY'ed it for $40. 🤣 (laughing emoji)
