I also think she hesitated because she was hoping that maybe it would end up being dark enough for Kinger to give level-headed advice, but that never got the chance to happen because Jax saw through the whole thing

Looking back it should've been so obvious that I never doubted he was an NPC because Abel's story was too good to be true, but it's also likely Caine had the story loosely based on real/canon events that haven't been confirmed yet to make it more believable to the characters

I honestly suspected Abel might be just another NPC before the reveal. Mostly, the thing that gave it away was him repeating himself before Pomni went up to the entrance; that, and his reluctance towards seeing Kinger. It's obvious Kinger would've known he was an NPC if he was in the dark

The game actually does look interesting conceptually, but unless he doesn't talk as much as he does in the trailer (or it is at least adjustable how much he talks), it's going to be a sore point for me

In all honesty it's not even a fair comparison because yellow paint is more like the misaligned textures that hint at a secret in the original DOOM or the cracks in the walls you can shoot rockets at in Duke Nukem 3D than the arrows and sparkles that are demonstrated in the FFVII inspired example.

I'm willing to bet few games literally use yellow paint these days except by parodies and remasters of games made during the peak of yellow paint's popularity thanks to the stigma.

Yellow paint isn't bad inherently, but signposting that's more grounded in how real life works requires a stronger suspension of disbelief. This is also part of why a lot of sci fi (like Doctor Who) looked better in black and white, it required less suspension of disbelief than color.

My opinion of this commercial is that it is absolutely worse than either of these because it's tied to a commercial (and also it's 1000 times more annoying), though I guess I'm a early 90s millennial so I don't remember when it was actually airing anyway

I just wish 6-7 had a crustified image I could associate it with like E, it feels like it's missing "oomph" without it
