In Britain, Australia, and maybe some other countries, they use "Love" or "Lovely" as a term of endearment similar to "darling, "dear", "sweetie", or "honey".
Which is very uncommon in America.

In America we use lovely to mean "pretty" or "pleasant".
"Your hair is lovely!" (Your hair is pretty!)
"This food is lovely." (This food is pleasant, good, tasty.)
It is used the same way in Britain and other English speaking countries I believe.
