Bone Parade is a literary journal that publishes quality works of magical realism, fabulism, speculative, weird, and genre-bending fiction. We love character driven stories that sift through the mucky waters of ethics and existentialism. www.BoneParade.com
Issue 17 is live! This issue explores the a cannibal shop's morality, a man with a rock growing from his forehead, a relationship with a faceless partner, mysterious eclipse mice, and a boy trying to save his brother from La Llorona. Enjoy! And happy New Year! We love you. www.boneparade.com

My story is in this~! It's 1900 words, a 7-minute read.

"The Sound of Falling Water" features a stiff man searching for his wife in a town of people who never stop moving.

It's inspired by magic realism, whose writers are among my favorites. It is my last publication of 2023. 🥹

Issue 14 features five fabulous stories: sound killing forests, the magic of new life, partnerships of stone and water, a charming Nordic fairy tale, and a banished human who dreams of becoming an AI. This issue is SO SO GOOD. Give it a read!

If any lit mags have time to talk to us (lol. We know you don’t have time—neither do we!) about how they took a mag from a labor of love to a paying market, we’d be so grateful. Specifically, do you need to become a 501c3? How do you crowdfund to pay authors in a non sketchy way? And taxes? Ughhh.

Hi there! Bone Parade is open for submissions through October 15th! We only need one more story for the next issue. Please send us your weird and wonderful genre-bending stories! We're also kind of in the mood for a cozy existential crisis, if that exists?

The leaves are busier than my mother on a Sunday morning by Niesha Okere
And they don’t work. But sometimes the leaves follow Daddy from his car to our front door. They form a ladder to gather around the keyhole. That’s why we never know the hour he returns. As a rewar...
