We remember being underwhelmed by it even in the 90s when it came out...such a shame after being so pleased with the original!

Birthright is excellent, but I've not read it in years. I recall liking Leinil Francis Yu's art....

I've (sadly) never read Kingdom Come! I got the impression it was more of a JL story, though?

It's kind of a stock/boring answer, but genuinely the first 105 issues by Lee/Kirby. The sheer amount of creativity, new additions to canon, and sci-fi weirdness haven't really been matched.

That said, Jonathan Hickman's run is a STRONG contender, as well as Mark Waid's.

FF is my (Mike's) favorite comic at Marvel. I've heard good things about North's run.
