One source (among many). Only railways are included, but there was an even longer list of "interurban" (extraurban) tramways, closed between the 1930s and the '70s (one of the last surviving ones, Milan-Limbiate, a few years ago for "modernization").

It was a national directive unti around the '90s, I don't know when it ceased. Before the "ministerial orange" there was the "ministerial bi-green", as you can see in older photos. The same with the colour of taxis. Of course smaller companies still use this scheme, it's already there, recognizable.

Yesterday I was umarelling in Bologna (via indipendenza) and the even the aestetic quality of the signals and streetlights left me disappointed... The finish was very rough. Also the positioning is not so well tought, in some cases.

As it has been done on the existing HS lines in Italy: to cope with NIMBY they were declared High Speed / High Capacity, and built with low gradients, a dozen of unused interconnections and a le to whitstand the mass of a freight train. The contractors where very happy.

In 2024 was far worse: they did not modify the timetables and during the closures it was the festival of 1h+ delays...
It has been declared that they preferred to cut the business MI-RM route and leave unaffected the most touristy one, the Adriatica.

But, knowing my chickens, they will realize this only after the infrastrutture completion, with the interconnections laid in the wrong way, and the cope with the compromises and temporary solutions for the next decades. I'm 99% sure.
Like Bologna AV station...

The problem is that freight trains are almost not compatible (MOW-wise) with a HS line, since they butcher the running surface of the rails. So much so that no conventional freight train has ever set wheel on a HS line opened to HS trains.

Still, I hope that after the conclusion of the tramway works, they consider a rework of the road above the underpass: now there's a very noticeable bump and the road surface finish is questionable, as well as in other areas where the tram works are half finished.

You've missed two (minor) things: the sport complex (campo sportivo), usually the football pitch with a later addiction of an indoor basketball/volley covered pitch, and the town park (giardini comunali). Both made or in the 30s or, in smaller places, the 60s/70s.

For the french point machines is a somewhat recent change (last 2-3 years), for the italian ones, until 2016 at least part of them were produced in Bologna (the shed has been demolished and substituted by a supermarket)

And most of the point machines (also those of typical french design like MJ, MATR, MBA) are produced in Firenze.

The omnia cantilever is also used abroad (e.g. in the UK on the Liverpool-Manchester).
This is also the case for several point machines of italian design (e.g. the P80 is used in several european or asian countries with little customization) in projects lead by Alstom.
