Small candy is 'fun size' disappointing.

My 5'0" friends are 'fun size' and actual fun! (And actual size?)

It happens to display a value that is momentarily correct, but its function is wrong 100% of the time

I came for the weird tech art, but the deep philosophy is a good bonus. 'living for yourself' a good skill to learn, and 'passing as the other thing in the before time' is currently blowing my mind

I helped a friend get a circus trick for the first time. She'd been working up to it and was super happy to get it. I love when I can help people like this

My ass is covered because if something else is out of spec I blame them. If all asses are covered, nothing can go wrong. It's like a legal liability induction proof.

Last I heard there have been no plane crashes due to software.

But I wish there were stronger statements of correctness

All software regulations for aircraft and medical devices are 'recursive ass covering'. I don't promise my software is "bug free", I promise that if the other parts it connects to follow their spec then mine will follow its spec.

Okay, it's for "games" but I'd be running _even more_ emacs and terminal panes than I can fit on my current pair of 4k monitors

It's also better than that! Some trees have evolved to time the drop of their leaves so as to make better mulch for their environment (late fall vs early spring depending on local climate patterns and desired soil effect). They are cultivating their own soil!

Python is solidly my number 2 language but I hardly ever see this construction. Saw it reading a new-to-me open source project just now

Between Bond and The Doctor I figured this is just a British superhero thing

That sounds terrible and I want one

The best model I've heard is that they see the world as a zero sum game competition _between races_. They're afraid of loss and scarcity and if any other team gets anything it must have been a loss for their team.
