What can you do?

Don’t give up hope. Dictators feed off your hopelessness.

Don’t quit. Dictators want you to give up.

Punch back. Dictators are bullies, and bullies are cowards.

Stay tethered to the truth. Dictators need you to believe their lies.

Resist. Stand with others.

Feel guilt, it builds character. Feel weakness, it builds strength. Feel fear, it builds courage. However, if you allow yourself to only feel without building or perseverance to build further, you'll fester in the rot of apathy or compliance. The world may fail but you shouldn't fail yourself.

As a combat veteran who served honorably in the army, I am appalled at the attack against my kin and you should be too.

Today marked another dark day in American history. There will be many more days, and even decades, like this. Get used to the new normal. The sooner you bask in the suffering to follow, the sooner you can adapt and overcome it.

Be vigilant about keeping abusive right-wing trolls off your accounts by reading replies and blocking. We all have a responsibility to keep this platform from becoming the toxic sewer that the other one is. Don’t look to others, do your part.

I’ve been going back and forth between Blue Sky and X, as many of you still are, and the differences are staggering. I can’t believe how Twitter devolved into its present state. I am hopeful about this platform though, and glad to be a part of it.

Disenchanted with X, formerly known as our beloved Twitter, I find myself yearning for a site where I can collaborate with like minded preservers of democracy. Our fight has only begun, and in these dawning moments I find revelrous respite knowing there are more of us than there are more of them.

What happens next? that's the best part, you get to choose. The thing about living under the threat of authoritarianism or uncertainty, is the human ability to persevere and come out on top. You have the unique opportunity of exploring a new self, a new reality, and new purpose.
