I loved Christmas in Japan. It's not the biggest deal but it's a date night so love is in the air, there are beautiful illuminations all around, and there is no pressure to do anything in particular.

It seems the movie Ella McKay doesn’t make sense. I briefly met the couple in Song Sung Blue years ago after seeing them perform (but have not seen the trailer), and all I can say is I’ve never met someone more devoted to his art. Impersonating Neil Diamond was not a bit.

My apologies if you already know this, but someone on here posted about adding -ai to a google search getting rid of all of that. It's been lifesaving.

When I lived there a friend from the US would send an article about these houses every week because it sounds so enticing. We understood the downsides and hurdles well enough that we are not currently living in one of these places.

Also, since it ‘tis the season, it’s much easier and more meaningful to give a physical copy of a movie you love to someone you hope will appreciate it.

I know of two very intelligent older people who got scammed by googling a printer company, with the next part of the story being similar to this one.

Sounds like they still have to "earn" the money after "winning" because it's a salary and not a prize? I get that they picked folks that will willingly go along with whatever, but what if I just entered to get the million bucks, not promote this idiotic PAC?

My husband went as a 17 year old shithead (or so he tells me) and most of his classmates were quite a bit older. He liked learning from them and they were more motivated than the younger folk. Do it!

What countries will take us? How will all of these people obtain visas to work/not be deported? Do we think that American turning full fascist won't have an echo in other countries? Will we as immigrants be treated fairly? As someone who has lived abroad a few times, it's not that simple.

It took 35 (adult) years, but it finally happened for me last night. Four kids total, my new building is the most organized I’ve ever lived in. It can still happen for you!

Wow! That would be twice as much as any medical bill I had in four years in Japan (and I had some tests that would cost at least $1000 with good insurance in the US). I can see this scaring people off. Take care.
