Collector of skills - none of the social, all of the handicrafts. Mum, reader, dev, nerd, Autistic, exhausted. Naïve enough to still believe there might be some future, if we work together.
(Context: I'm not from USA), my 7yo son just looked over my shoulder, saw this picture and asked "who are these men? Robbers?" and I could not disagree xD

Thanks! To be honest, I didn't expect anyone to see this post. This is the first time someone replied to my own post xD

They did - starting around 1772, so by now this is actually how people vote here. Half of them, that is.

You might have heard of first round of elections, where the liberal got more votes, but not enough to be elected. In the second round Nawrocki got votes from far(er) right, whose candidate came third in the first round.

I think the problem is we've been fighting for too long, ever since partisions. At the time when other European countries were evolving, Poland was fighting for survival. I don't think we have any idea how to trust each other, build together, thrive. There's too much generational trauma left.

Arming us? Where did you get that one from? Also, the vote was almost 50/50, so don't think we'll all just sit quiet and let shit happen.

As we do pretty much every second elections...

I wish he did... That's just Polish people, I'm afraid. And I do say so as Polish who voted for the other candidate (who was not my first choice anyway)

Looks like me this morning, checking presidential election results (Poland)

Since when are genocidal regimes being banned from international entertainment events a bad thing?

In Poland the lead is very narrow and all in all it doesn't look so bright. The far right got way more votes than I dreamt in my worst nightmares, while the left has marginal support. I'm scared.

My personal favourites are preschool children drawings/paintings. At first glance I usually have no idea what it is, but with a single world from the author it all becomes clear and I wonder how could I not see it before, it's all there, just absolutely not how I would expect it.

Yes, and when traveling within the EU you just need one document to access basic healthcare in another country. Every country has their own rules, of course, but no-one here goes into debt for needing an ambulance...

The way he uses us as "the Force" to fetch him stuff, his preference for Imperial March over Rebellion themes, the rage after replacing his rebar with a stick (and the fact it was used as double-bladed sword a'la Darth Maul) - it all raises serious concerns about his connections to the dark side...
March 23, 2025 at 6:31 AM
My sincere condolences. On the bright side, you may be spared having a kid running with construction rebar. Or singing the Imperial March tune every waking hour. Or "using the force" (using you to pass him objects and pretend you didn't). Seems cute, but there is Just. No. End.

Not only the big ones did. We have it in Poland (shitty, but steady), and we don't have a ton of exported natural resources keeping us afloat, like some of the countries on the list.

My first thought was "plague was already here", but then again they're working hard to make a couple new (old) ones...

I never thought "history repeats itself" means a word-for-word reprint...

I like your idea, but just to clarify: We're not bordering Russia except for Kaliningrad, unless we count Belarus as Russian territory (which might be a reasonable thing to do). We do have some Putin-lovers (Konfederacja), but fortunately they're still a rather small force.
