I don't pretend to be an expert, but if what's happening in the US would be happening in France there would be a no kings protest every weekend. There's no need for violence, you just need those that don't agree with what's happening to communicate it loud and clear. I'm sure they are plenty.

I think the free and the brave would do better to take their destiny in their own hands. The reaper is known to be unreliable and Trump is not the last American authoritarian.

Metastatic? Ouch. I thought presidents were better taken care of...

It looks like for whatever reason the English history starts with the visigoths and skips the gallo roman fortification mentioned in the French versions: fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cit%C3%...

It's good business. To make an argument for the glass half full, maybe some people who wouldn't do the effort just for Paris, come and taste some French culture because of Disneyland. Don't know how many, but there might be some.

History is just stories, I think if it's told by a decent storyteller any kid would like history. It's up to the parents I guess to put this in a fun setting.

Interesting, in the wiki they say the first fortifications there were visigoth, the "master builder ' we saw the other day explained they were roman.

Boy almost 16 and girl 13. I guess they both like history. We've been to Disneyland too a couple of times I would like them to know the world under many aspects. A great amusement park to visit in France is Puy du Fou, I highly recommend it for all ages.

It's the third visit for me and the second with my kids. On the last 2 we had guided tours with re enactors, each time you get a better picture of the Middle Ages life there then just with the history manual stuff.

This time we rented a car, so we tried to take advantage of it. We visited a castle in Spain, revisited Carcassonne and did some hiking and stand up paddling

Saint Cyprien, in the Pyrénées Orientales. Probably the dryest part of France. We had summer weather all week.

Looks good, and also, like a lot of work 😅 For me, I'm coming back from vacation, so just rest will do fine.

Hi Tasha, if you're looking for a honest man why post photos of Lil Reinhart instead of yourself?

Yepp fair enough. To be seen, I still hold some hope not everything will go downhill in Europe.

Look, I'm not judging at all, but when there is a mismatch between the title and the conclusion of the article I call that mild click bait. Far from the worst I've seen, but still. French justice is notoriously lenient with blue collar crime, but until now I have no reasons for doubt in politics

From what I've seen, everybody needs to do a bit of click bait these days to increase engagement 🤷. I put this in that category. Long live the algorithm...

As the conclusion says, her chances are small still 🤞

It's behind a paywall unfortunately

Yesterday in Paris only 7k people demonstrating for Le Pen. We'll see what the appeal gives, but I'd say democracy is holding up pretty well in France for now.
