UEFA banned keeping a minute of silence at the Romania - Ukraine futsal match on 16-th of April, for victims of the Sumy bombing by Russia. However both teams agreed to defy that and hold the minute anyway, in-game.

In Bucharest Romania the symbol of the interwar far-right organization "The Iron Guard" stands tall since December 2024. It is painted on top of the tallest pillar of a bridge arching over the main train station of the city. Romania still has a long way to go to put behind its criminal past.
