Yeah I’m not a big lore guy so I’m probably the wrong guy to have too many opinions on the lore itself. I do remember that Azalea sold children though.

I don’t think the game needed much lore until soon in the future. Lore contributes to the narrative of the game’s development, but it has had a lot of things filling that role, Silver Age rollout being the latest. But lore is a repeatable way to keep things fresh when the product cycle repeats.

are not ready for written plot stuff.

there is less new stuff to do. Blocks were great for Magic, and the story arcs that have replaced them are too. It gives shape to the players’ experience of the game.

Actually as I write this, LSS could probably use “visit the rest of rathe in sets” as a way to give bones to the next phase if they

Yeah and I think honestly they probably haven’t needed it. The game getting started gave a good shape, then the beginning of tier 4 events, then the first heroes rotating, then the growth explosion, then LL format. Silver Age spinup might be enough, but story is a replicable way to give shape once

Yeah she might be too good, but if she’s not busted and LSS is cool with it then the multiplier really does solve their problem

What they should have done to Cindra and Verdance was what they did to Gravy. Kneecap them out of the top tier to churn the Meta and cool the point accumulation for a little bit. Arguably they could have even taken it further with Gravy. Bring back suspensions and make them hurt more.

Part of the ban philosophy has to be meta churn or this problem will never go away. The only alternative is to introduce heroes weak and improve them over time, but that’s a bad way to sell sets.

Something that they haven’t seemed to grapple with is that a deck being at an acceptable, yet strong win rate isn’t a good combo with the Living Legend system. You could have a hero who is top tier but not busted (like Cindra,) and it’ll affect the points the same way as a busted hero.

Have a Mythic Maniacs format and winners of LL tournaments get MM points and graduate out.

I was thinking more of the bonkers quality of the first iterations. No need for LL to serve a competitive function. It can be like commander- a casual bounce house

Yeah, Charmer on Flesh and Pod started mentioning it. It’ll only grow from there.

This is the first I’m hearing of the sentiment!

My hot take is that it was delusional to think that it would be something that established players would want to buy a lot of. As a one class set it was never going to have wide appeal to that audience, so it must have been intended for a different audience. So we’ll see if it helps on board people.
