All's Well That Ends Well [III, 6]

My 8", 18", and 24" bodhrans at the KC Ren Fest in 2005
Spelled b o d h r a n, pronounced something like bow ron, a bodhran is a round, shallow, frame drum. It is held vertically with one hand and played with the other hand using a double ended stick called a tipper. This picture is from 2005 at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. I am standing in a green tunic and a leather hat. I am playing my 18 inch bodhran with my right hand. Hanging from my belt, on my left hip is my 8 inch drum. Sitting vertically on the ground to my right is my 24 inch drum. The two larger drums have tunable goat skin heads which are susceptible to damp. They are tuned via clamps around the outside edge of the drum. The 8 inch drum has a synthetic head so it can be played in the rain.
