I think it is basic survival instinct. More people moving in will make resources less available. So in the plan to reduce the influx, the most vulnerable will suffer first. Later it might get tighter.
Thinking about being somewhere on that plan as a legal immigrant..

I am thinking of my years of internship and residency in India, managed/ monitored (for the ones with no treatment) -several patients with tetanus , few diphtheria, pertussis, rabies. Several of them didn’t make it and we were helpless. Hope not to see this again.
