Post 16/16: We loved former Wild Writer Kaia Miller’s characters in her 2023 short story that earned an Honorable Mention in the age 13-16 category (she received another Honorable Mention for poetry, too). Kaia lives in Boulder, Colorado. Congratulations, Kaia!

Post 15/16: former Wild Writer Lucie Perarnaud of Boulder, Colorado earned Third Place in the age 13-16 category in 2023 for her short story about an encounter with a jaguar. Lucie also earned First Place in the poetry category. Congratulations, Lucie!

Post 14/16: Cedar Robertson’s short story “Touching down” took us through a heart-stopping football play, and he scored Second Place in the age 13-16 category in 2023. Cedar lives in Louisville, Colorado, and is my son. Congratulations, Cedar! 🥰

Post 12/16: Olive McBride’s short story “Two New Redwoods” about an eco-warrior who puts some loggers in their place earned Third Place in the 12 and under category in 2023. Olive calls the forests of Nelson, New Hampshire home. 🍂

Post 11/16: Luke Raimond of Louisville, Colorado earned First Place in the age 13-16 short story category in 2023 (plus Third Place for poetry!) for his composition “Nameless.” Fun fact: Luke and his brothers have sold our family many eggs over the years. Congratulations, Luke!

Wild Writers week 4: Golden Ponds with Brice Maiurro. We started with Brice’s poem “Dishwasher Haiku” and had some hot chocolate while we did introductions and each talked about a body of water that was important to us.
