added a liquid glass-esq displacement map to my twitch stream overlays and i think it came out pretty nice
follow alert overlay for twitch streams that has a nice liquid glass effect added to it more of the liquid glass overlay but this time showing it fullscreen with the chat integrated. i am spamming "test" multiple times. i'm sure there's a better way to test this than spamming twitch chat but i haven't found it yet

The outlet awarded the game an overall score of 36/40, with each of the four reviewers giving it a 9 out of 10. This marks the highest rating in the series to date, surpassing previous entries such as the original Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2, both of which scored 34/40. Even the remake of Silent Hill 2 fell slightly behind with a 35/40 rating.

sometimes i question why i'm still working on my video about 'the medium' and then i see people desperately trying to repair the game's reputation with half-baked plot summaries and my doubts disappear
about the medium ending and what actually happens: Spoiler: The Medium message and ending The ending of the game literally ends with the father having found a way to cross to the spirit world after spending more than a decade researching it in order to save his daughter, and we already know through environmental storytelling that time can be manipulated/rewound in there. The ending of The Medium is an obvious red herring. "You can't always save everyone" is uttered by the daughter's father spirit version ( his tulpa if you will) who was imprisoned for a decade without connection to the real Thomas, so he thinks there is nothing that can be done because he lacks a decade of context. But Thomas actually found a way to bring his physical body to the spirit world where the creature (the maw) exists, meaning the ending makes you think nothing can be done, but thinking about the journey, the clock and clock ticking imagery and the post-credits recontextualizes that both Marianne and Thomas both very much love Lilianne and will do anything for her. The journey literally shows that Lilianne is a hugely selfless and self-sacrificial person who doesn't want to hurt anybody which is why her remaining family works hard to help her out of what she thinks is a pre-destined outcome. It's just a red herring and a cliffhanger that is taken at face value...in a psychological horror game. The game is about family bonds surviving through the ages. Silent Hill 2's message is fives time worse with Angela Orosco's outcome too so it's even less comprehensible to see the latch on to the medium in that respect

if anyone's interested in bloober team's new game "cronos" maybe wait a bit to buy it - screenrant is holding their final review score back until some game breaking bugs are fixed
Unfortunately, I have to share that, for now, this is only a review-in-progress. In its current pre-release state, Cronos: The New Dawn is experiencing some concerning bugs that prevent me from being able to finalize my thoughts. As we approached Cronos: The New Dawn's release date, I believed updates would resolve most, if not all, the pre-release bug concerns I had, but that has not been the case. While I was able to form initial opinions based on an earlier version of the game that had bugs limited primarily to cutscenes, as of the most recent update, specifically on PS5, I have been experiencing a game-breaking bug that stops enemies from attacking me. During a restart - since my initial file was incompatible with the new update - after reaching a point about 20 minutes in, every enemy begins behaving abnormally.
