What’s especially dumb about TX is that in 2021 the GOP used the growth of Black/Brown Texans to gerrymander more seats for White people. They couldn’t do what Trump wanted without being overtly racist. They didn’t care though because they are drunk with power and do not give a crap about democracy.

When a federal prosecutor announces his or her appearance in court, they literally say “for the United States,” not the President personally, not the Office of the President. DOJ is now just another in a long list of institutions Trump has run into the ground.

Since the Supreme Court is now the RNC’s legal division, who knows? But it should already be too late. The TX gerrymander was blatantly racist and should not be allowed. CA’s was voter approved, not racist and should stand. That would mean the dumbasses screwed around and cost themselves 5 seats.

The second part of this statement is that two years after Accountability arrives, her friends Karma and Find Out are going to make an appearance. The White House won’t be run by corrupt White supremacists and DOJ will be back in the justice business. Karma and Find Out are going to kick some asses.

I am a lawyer (and a former AUSA). You are correct. And to understand just how stupid this is, consider that DOJ has enormous advantages with a grand jury - lower burden of proof (probable cause), can use hearsay, etc. The problem here is the prosecutor is an idiot and the case is a pile of manure.

Murder case. Witness says the guy on video leaving the scene was the defendant, but there’s a hotel bill/credit card charge suggesting he was 1K miles away. Whose problem is that? The government’s. Defendant doesn’t have to say a word. If DOJ said otherwise the case would be kicked to the curb.

I have seen courts dismiss criminal cases for conduct that was inadvertent and far less egregious than this. This is really bad. About what I expected, but still really bad.

I told you guys this was all coming. Expect the same in the James case. If a grand jury indicts a case that no AUSA in the office will touch, there’s 99.9% chance that you’re going to find misconduct.
