Maybe cheating a bit by including a couple of box sets but the Collectors Edition set has so many great things in it that I wouldn’t have heard otherwise that I had to include it and Previn was my introduction to the symphonies.

I don’t know as much Shostakovich as I should, but really enjoy these discs.

I’m guessing that you will have heard the original version on this BIS set - I’ve enjoyed it but think that as usual with Sibelius his final thoughts are better (e.g. 5th symphony, violin concerto). Or is it just that we are more familiar with the final versions??
