I live in AZ07 and voted for Adelita. After Raul died, they had to run a primary, then when that was over they held a special election. Can't just snap your fingers and create an election, else opponents will claim fraud.

IMO christianity and the other abrahamic religions that characterize women as property or inferior to men were created from a backlash against the goddess worship or so-called pagan religions that were common around the globe in the ancient world. And apparently the backlash continues to this day.
