And the ones who have most risen to the moment (Botstein at Bard, Roth as Wesleyan, Eisgruber at Princeton come to mind) all have the advantage of being many years of experience and thus the ability to lead their boards rather than vice versa

We are about to issue a call for papers for a conference we were originally going to host in New Jersey, but instead will be hosting Montreal for this reason.

Especially since the behavior of communal religious institutions might tend to push Mamdani-supporting Jews of no religion to answer “None” rather than “Jewish”

The second raises serious constitutional issues, but since the point is to rewrite separation of powers, that’s probably inevitable…

2. Create a new officer (“first secretary”?) whose role is to liaise with the civil service and their unions, present for frequent Congressional consideration proposals that leverage Major Questions Doctrine and Congressional Review Act authorities, and develop a budget request.
