Feeling extremely down. I guess it’s time to read the French comic Empire USA. A silly 2008 comic predicting that a coup orchestrated by the far right religious group would be used to abolish American democracy to turn it into a theocracy.

For a bit of a comparison, here's an image of a french soldier close to 1812 equipped with a bayonet and muskets developed in the 1770's usually. The musket uses a flint which makes the gunpowder less affected by rain when detonating and the bayonet allows the soldier fight close quarter.

Been watching a few videos from a Korean museum about war in Korea and a peasant revolt from 1811 and I am puzzled by the date. I understand that swords and arrows were somewhat common in China and Korea well into the Taiping rebellion, but I don't understand why muskets and bayonets aren't used?
