Follow up on my last post. If you want to block someone on Bluesky, click on the notifications icon, it looks like a bell. That will bring up messages sent to you, including ones from Bluesky saying "xyz.bsky.social followed you".

If you don't recognize the person, click on that message. That will take you to their profile. If you want to block them, click on the 3 dots and select Block Account. That's it, they won't be able to follow you and you won't see anything from them.

I've noticed A LOT of people that I don't know starting to follow me here on Bluesky. These are accounts that I do not seem to have anything in common with. My guess is that they are just the newest form of spam.

I learned that you can block these unknown followers, stopping the spam before it starts. If I'm wrong about this someone please let me know. Otherwise if you are reading this I've intentionally not blocked you and you might want to consider doing the same with followers that you don't know or want.
