It is commonplace that people who start wars thinking they will get a quick victory find out the hard way that the other side has different ideas. And that the ending is not at all what was imagined at the beginning.

Thanks - very interesting glimpse into something most of us never think about. Has this line of research impacted studies of cell motility in the fetal stage, when there's a lot of action with "baby" cells maturing and then transporting over to their "forever" homes?

To start with, the cuts to cancer research will not affect that many people. But as time goes on, more and more people will die that could have been saved. We don't know which axed research projects would have paid off -- that's WHY we do research. But some of them would have, and now they won't.
