Mentioning LaTeX takes me back to terminals running VAX/VMS in the 1990s when I worked at Plessey Semiconductors. I did not use it myself, but I do remember being impressed by its usefulness and a few minutes of research suggests it is still alive and well today; especially in your sort of world.

Love the poem. There is definitely a hint of Metroland (Sir John Betjeman)

Well at least I have heard of Daguerre, unlike the first (surviving) photograph chap from a couple of weeks ago ;-)

Presumably the fans are searching for the string without the hash symbol. The actual hashtag would not match yours (or would it?)

Very much so. The Iron Bridge (at Ironbridge no less) is only 100 feet or so across.

Please don't apologise Richard. Totally unnecessary and inappropriate because this podcast was entertaining, fascinating and educational all at once. What you call nerdiness came across as a genuine passion and it was a really great listen.

Nice bottle, nice size, confusing name, agreed, but can't help thinking that the corporate world should have moved on from one-use plastic bottles of water. Proper glasses that get washed and jugs of tap water should really be the norm.

Actually, even better would be for you all to take your own.

Re interesting/unusual English place names, this is from University Challenge on Nov 18th, UCL vs St Andrews, and this is how a member of the St Andrews team introduced himself. (Both places are genuine, in Worcestershire apparently).

I’m sorry Stuart. I’m the stupid one for spoiling your remarkably interesting and of course time sensitive post — I should have pointed out the year being wrong in a private message to you.

There used to be exactly that sort of thing on the back of cereal boxes in the 1960s

From the iOS Photos app you can easily add an aide-mémoire, maybe something like "L to R: Jim, Bill, Fred" as a caption (tap the "i" icon) but I don't think you can tag individuals in the way you want to.
