Writer and coder for queer games, working primarily in #renpy; streamer sometimes; also find me on Mastodon @bobcgames@peoplemaking.games
But some news: PatchrickPlayer1 will be streaming the game (at least its progress) this upcoming Friday (June 20), for Pride Month!
I'll post exact time once it's known #IndieGameDev

(Also got some writing done!)
It's a little sad we'll no longer have scenes that look like this though 😅

The day job has been too busy to make serious progress, but I've been knocking out scenes (and scene-bits), and sprite progress has continued
The game is currently 38,348 words, and here's a WIP headshot of Gabe #GameDev

And it shouldn't surprise me, but the game is filled to the brim with copyrighted music and video clips (from the movie)
So uh... those vids aren't going to be public because YouTube already complained at me

It's not filled out for existing games (which makes sense), but as the help document notes: Failure to tag your asset page may result in delisting.

Yearning: A Gay Story (AKA #YAGS ) is a VN about being gay, coming out, and making friends in college... also maybe a bit of dating 🏳️🌈🎓👨❤️👨
It's free on Steam, itch, and Google Play! yags.bobcgames.com

A decent plot, a reasonably interesting job system (based on equipped Djinn), and utterly *gorgeous* graphics for a GBA title
Also that music is still stuck in my head decades later
(Also transferring your save to the sequel without a link cable? >_< )

Another great rhythm game, albeit a slightly more obscure one
I tried it again recently, but apparently modern TVs have too much lag to make the game really playable, and the game has no sync settings
Miss this a lot

It was the perfect "take it on the go and play some randomness when you have a few spare moments" before phones (and phone games) were really a thing
I have many fond memories of pulling out my GBA while waiting for my mom

I know, I know... but sometimes I'm just in the mood for some fairly mindless puzzling, and this fits the bill
And it doesn't have stupid artificial time or money gates on gameplay like mobile match-3 games
I keep wishing someone would make a gay version

This has overtaken DDR as my go to "exercise" game, and it's also just a badass rhythm game
My only regret is that I have the PSVR version that doesn't allow custom songs to be added and played

I've played Overcooked with friends for a while, but Plate Up is *so much more satisfying*... it's just cooking game perfection
It's also been the game I've streamed the most, and helped me play with and meet such awesome people

Rock Band 4 is literally the reason I bought a PS4 (first console since the Gamecube)
There is no better way to spend an evening with a couple friends, strumming/drumming/singing your heart out

I really enjoy typing games, and need to find/play more of them, but this is the OG for me

I've never really liked games with resetting progress, but I *have* always enjoyed card games, thus this game was somewhat of a surprise hit for me
It's just so *satisfying* to get that combo going and learning each character's playstyle

For all its flaws, it has an emotionally-gripping plot, excellently interwoven stories, and choices that all feel important, and is IMO the quintessential example of a modern AAA narrative game

An excellent combat system (I was familiar with from the Evolution series on Dreamcast), an epic world, and a ton of little side quests and completionist things to tackle
(Also daddy Auron)

It's everything I want out of a modern RPG: An excellent turn-based combat system, a good plot, interesting dungeons, and not a lot of "open work"ness
I'd honestly been out of RPGs for a while before this (Gamecube then PS4) but it was one of the reasons to buy a PS4

Exercise! Rhythm gaming! Meeting people! I've owned so many pads (soft through metal) over the years for home play via Stepmania
Also hubby and I kind of bonded over DDR so I kind of owe it for my marriage?

The game itself was fine, but for me it was about the people I met through playing, many of which I still talk to today
(And then Blue Burst hit the perfect nostalgia spot and got me hooked again for a couple years)

It was, in many ways, one of the earliest "open world" RPGs and also featured strategic ship combat in a form that I haven't seen in any game since
(The Dreamcast era really was the golden age of RPGs, wasn't it?)
