Loved visiting Aldo Rossi’s Monte Amiata housing in Gallaratese, Milan last week.

Also although I admire the sentiment of this climate statement it does completely misunderstand who Noah saved with his ark

Highlights were Andre Jaques Titanium and the Planetary Making of SHININESS, Czech Momentum of Decision, Aravena and Radio Ballads section

At the Triannale Milano exhibition Inequalities curated by Stefano Boeri. A super dense show with a lot of innovative work next to some duller bits. A bit cluttered when it comes to sound and visuals but pretty good overall

Enjoyed Thirst at @wellcomecollection.bsky.social. Curation there always strikes the right balance between art, science, history and contemporary issues.

V&A East Storehouse every bit as good as everyone says it is

Was great to attend the opening of Enric Miralles: Creating the Scottish Parliament this morning, such thoughtful and powerful work and intro by Benedetta Tagliabue

I mean yes the Mack refurb is still a mess but to present these generic designs after demolishing a much loved music venue and claim it will “bring safety, life and architectural integrity back to this part of Glasgow” is really something

Will be on Radio Alhara tonight for an hour of ambient music

A cowardly statement for sure but wanted to share this passage from The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates that eloquently puts down a “both sides” stance

Genuinely disturbed by Carlo Ratti's section of the Venice Architecture Biennale. A sinister mix of naive tech optimism, AI, uncanny valley visuals and robotics. Souless.

Thanks to @herrehrig.bsky.social for the book Reconstructing Modernism by Ashley Maher. Fascinating accounts of 20th century evolution of modernism in press, politics and fiction. Felt the parallels between recent push for net-zero and a decarbonised built environment

Starmer's Labour is disappointing in so many ways but the contempt they have for pretty much anyone is astounding. They can't just celebrate the Luton Airport expansion as a positive it has to lauded as hurting or upsetting someone else. In this case planners and climate activists.

Great to see ROTOR Deconstruction talk yesterday, years of great work and projects that really are changing how our built environment is understood and constructed. rotordc.com

Jay Singh of Regent Property Glasgow released a pretty standard quote attached. But calling the area neglected is a bit much as Glasgow already has hotels nearby on the Clyde that are unloved/occupied/ugly. Exit has a huge community of music lovers why not support them over this profiteering?

Real shame to see Glasgow music venue Exit under threat as reported in Resident Advisor ra.co/news/82309

An all too common story in cities that really tells itself here in the comparison between visuals of the existing building and the ludicrous hotel development set to replace it.

Great to be part of Dundee Radio Club listening festival this weekend.

Damning statement from Grenfell United on this decision

Visited the V&A Dundee on Friday, despite hearing some criticisms about the gallery I think it works pretty well. Brilliant series of shows too with Scotland + Venice A Fragile Correspondence, Dundee Tapestry and Design HOPES
