Every year like clockwork the weeks after the HR training leads to a huge increase in coworkers making really inappropriate jokes. Seems like it has the exact opposite of the intended effect.

"Happy Death Day" (2017)is a lot of fun. Groundhog's Day but Phil is the final girl in a horror movie is a great idea. I like the trend the last decade or so of classic movie plot but it's a slasher movie now. Like Freaky & Totally Killer. Why is the main girl named "Tree" though? That's not a name.

"Fantastic 4: 1st Steps" (2025) has so much more heart & style than most of what Marvel Studios puts out. Shame they're going to merge it into the increasingly bland MCU. I've had a theory for a while that most superheroes work best set in the time they were created in & this movie is now exhibit A.

"Happy Gilmore 2" (2025) in objective terms isn't a very good movie. It's overly reliant on callbacks to the original & celebrity cameos. But I liked it. Sandler's much better at drama than comedy & all the more serious stuff in this movie worked for me. Really liked how they brought back Shooter.

Saw "Superman" (2025) a 2nd time. Still loved it. The 1st time I thought Hoult's Luthor really stole the show but on my 2nd watch this is Corenswet's movie. So much heart; perfectly captured being the big blue boy scout & made him feel so completely human. Also really loved Gathegi as Mr. Terrific.

"Oh, hi" (2025) I saw this because it was starting exactly as Jurassic World was ending & would finish right when I needed to leave. I didn't know a single thing about it, & I'm so glad I went in blind. Highly recommend you watch it but don't look up a thing. Great acting, fun plot. Very funny.

"Jurassic World: Rebirth" (2025) stunk. It's really easy to make me like a movie with animals eating people & I still thought this stunk. ScarJo operating at unprecedented levels of phoning it in in this. Couple cool scenes at the end when the movie goes full horror but not enough to redeem this l.

"Another Simple Favor"(2025) just right from the jump didn't need to exist. The story was completely wrapped up. But Kendrick & Lively had such great chemistry I get the temptation. I thought they should have just reteamed on a new original & I stand by that but props for just going bonkers with it.

"Us" (2019) Peele is 3/3. I don't think I fully understand it but I'll be thinking about it for a bit. Stripped of its artsier touches it's still a great horror movie. Nyong'o is the star of the show but Duke deserves props for going off type as a dorky sitcom dad. Great twists & interesting concept

"Game Night" (2018) is really fun. Not an original thought but Rachel McAdams delivery in that one plane scene is an all timer. Whole cast is great but Jesse Plemons is exceptional. Love watching him play a real weirdo chewing up scenes.

I liked "Wicked" (2024) so much more than I thought I would. Erivo & Grande are excellent. I've never seen the play; why did it need 5+ hours of movie to be adapted? It can't be longer than 3 hours long? How much did they add? Also looked so much better in motion than the stills led me to believe.

"Superman" (2025) is incredible. I don't think I actually had superhero fatigue after seeing this, just shitty bland MCU franchise building fatigue. Cast is incredible, esp. Hoult as Luthor who puts in an all time super villain performance. Gunn is a master at Superhero stuff. Excited for Supergirl.

"Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping" (2025) was a really fun goofy comedy. Samberg and the Lonely Island are great at mixing music and comedy. Wish they'd get back in the studio, do some more stuff like the old SNL digital shorts instead of whatever they've been up to.

"The Alto Knights"(2025) someone needed to pull De Niro aside after The Irishman & told him to never touch a mob movie again. He is stunningly bad as Vito Genovese. He's fine if uninspired as Frank Costello. Also why the stupid 2 roles 2 actor gimmick here?
This movie stinks.

"Jurrasic Park" (1993) is on the short list of the greatest blockbuster films of all time. I'm a easy mark for any movie with animals eating people so I even kinda like it's many shitty sequels that seemed to miss this movie's point, but the original is a legitimately great movie. Spielberg the GOAT

"Love Hurts" (2025) was way too saccharine & corny, & I was assuming it would be exceptionally saccharine & corny. It's also ridiculously unoriginal and the ending is terrible. Ke Huy Quan being super likable saves this from being pure trash. Sean Astin is also super likable in a small role.

"The Actor" (2025) was all style but little substance. Acting was very good, movie looked good, plot was really lacking for me. Went in thinking I was going to love this & thought it merely OK. Might have liked this more in a theater than on the back of the seat in front on me on a tiny plane screen

"Rushmore" (1998) & "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001) I think I generally liked Anderson more when his actors weren't all doing this very stylized Wes Anderson movie acting they all do now. Need to get him back together with the Wilson boys. Hackman is unsurprisingly great. So are the rest of both casts

Been slacking on updating "Predator: Killer of Killers" (2025) love the idea of Predator vs famous warrior types, hate the implication that you can't actually win; kills the stakes. Would much prefer this as live action. Funny that the Viking got directly translated to English but not the Samurai
