You certainly struck me as being ahead of the curve when you were a teenager. If only religion wasn’t, at its core, about fear. Even back in the polytheistic days. It went from if you don’t appease the gods your crops will fail to if you don’t become god’s BFF you’ll burn forever. It’s weird.

If you can’t yet grasp the natural reason things happen then make up supernatural reasons. One would have thought that the more scientific knowledge a civilization achieves the less of a need there is for religion. Yet, sadly, it persists…

I left the church at a pretty young age when I just couldn’t buy it anymore. It wasn’t until I started studying more about the evolution of the human mind and realized that religion is a natural part of that process.
