That website starts by talking about Singal’s parents(!!) as if that carries ANY relevance on whether or not Singal’s content is discriminatory. God, I hate the intolerant left.

There’s definitely merit to what you say. Although we’re getting really good at matching American cultural energy here in Europe nowadays, so usually it isn’t long before our right-wing takes after whatever new thing republicans hyperfixate on. Praying the raw milk thing doesn’t spread to us lol.

Yeah, I’ve ultimately abandoned the progressive label for myself even though I agree with a whole lot that progressives have to say. Where I come from (Sweden) there is a ”social liberal” label which I found applies quite well to me. But then again, I’ve never been too fond of labels for myself.

It’s tough out there, but ultimately I do agree with you. Simultaneously I understand people who’ve dealt with conservatives acting in clear bad faith and as a result completely abandoned the idea of conversing across the line.

I hate how divided politics are, but I can’t claim I have a solution.

Those are unconnected, check the timestamps! I just find the term ’skeeting’ funny so I reposted her endorsement haha. Generally a big fan of AOC.

What else do you think we’ve been discussing? That’s what farming engagement off of rage means. Social media peddles shit that it expects you to dislike to you in an attempt to provoke you into interacting.

Quite the pot calling the kettle black considering how you assumed an authoritative position from the get-go with the condescending ”Nope. Try again”.

Respectfully, that is such an empty statement to me, and I suspect you’ve got it the wrong way around. (Practically) anyone can be provoked, which leads to engagement. If you fail to provoke, it’s not because they didn’t ”crave it”, it’s because you haven’t found the right way to provoke them.

It’s fairly well established that anger leads to engagement regardless. Facebook discovered this back in 2006 with its launch of the news feed, as covered in a talk by one of its main creators Ruchi Sanghvi.
