The float planes from downtown Vancouver to Nanaimo harbour are brilliant. Great scenery and if you’re early to board, you can ride in the copilot seat.

This is a moving and dramatic story by @dougsaunders.bsky.social and Wazhma Hamidi. Kudos to @theglobeandmail.com and Canadian government officials for their roles in a happy ending.

It’s a two week sailing from China to CA ports so the full impact is yet to arrive.

I understand the glass half full analysis of CPC results but it still misses the core issue: CPC was miles ahead in the polls until the election mattered. Then they lost. It is bluntly obvious the issue is the leader. PP lacks real world experience and is obnoxious to boot.

Your November take was prescient. I am hearing the “but for” takes from intelligent CPC supporters that call for more of the same from the CPC. It is rather a “why not us” question which leaves us looking at the elephant in the room.

We waited an hour in a Vancouver line with a lot of seniors. I saw no one leave. Only two ballot workers, doing a great job, and reinforcements were called for while we were in line. I’ve been voting for 5 decades and never this long for a Federal Election. Felt good.

Her insights offered on At Issue (CBC The National) at Good Talk (The Bridge) are excellent. I find her to be the best objective observer of Canadian politics.

I was a child living in the city at the time. It was a major draw for locals to come see our first skyscraper.

That would be EV and hybrid battery cathodes. An IC battery has both in the same casing (lead acid batteries).

Full disclosure that was 12 years ago.

Google tells me the metallurgy is more complex. Makes sense to me. I used to sell coking coal to both Korean and Chinese steel mills and the Koreans were far superior in the more advanced alloys.

Likely because cathodes are more complex to manufacture. That would give an edge to Korea though China is not far behind.

From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas Friedman covers his time in both cities early in his reporting career. Reveals how complex the politics are.
